
George Gaadt is American artist, illustrator, and portrait painter, from northwestern Pennsylvania. Educated at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, he has also lectured and taught widely on the subjects of art, history, illustration and design. As a veteran illustration artist and painter, George has been honored with over 90 awards including 200 Years of American Illustration, CCAD Outstanding Alumni, Juror-NY Society of illustrators; NASA Art Team and recently received an honorary Masters of Visual Arts degree from CCAD. As a professional painter, Mr. Gaadt's activities and accomplishments are as extensive as the variety of artwork which he has produced. He has produced art for packaging, publishing, TV, sports consumer, advertising, editorial and children's books but historical and military subjects have always played a major role in his career. Noted for his attention to research as well as detail, George Gaadt portrays the personalities, artifacts and architecture with a special interest to that particular period of history in all of his paintings. In addition to his successful commercial illustration career, he has also been an artist, painter and photographer for the National Football League, worked for the Baseball, Football and Basketball Halls of Fame and produced artwork and displays for both USAREUR Headquarters in Germany and 8th U.S. Army, Korea.
